Bringing change

As well as raising awareness of the good work being carried out globally to redistribute food, we aim to bring real change by getting the UK and EU governments to pass legislation removing liability for redistributing waste food. Despite the existence of the Good Samaritan Act in the USA, most Americans are unaware of it. The aim of the film is to increase public, corporate and government involvement with food rescue.
This is not about showing footage of starving children or making the viewer feel bad. Instead, the film will inspire audiences by showing that “waste” food redistribution is not only possible but is happening right now.
As well as changing the law, the film will explore the possibility of creating a global, Internet-based system to match surplus food with demand. (See The Code page)
